Flotsam OperaUpClose Tour - 10 & 11 November 2026 (SEND)

Join OperaUpClose for a magical performance of their brand new opera for early years & KS1 based on the incredible book by David Wiesner and composed by Kerry Andrews. This production has been created with input from creative workshops with EYFS and KS1 children from the Isle of Wight over the past 2 years! Schools will be provided with a resource pack to go with this project and a CPD session on Tuesday 29 September to hear and learn some of the music and songs from the show with your students prior to the performance. There will also be lots of ideas for follow up musical activities linked to the story and the maritime theme.

Schools will need to opt to either host OperaUpClose for the day with other schools visiting for performances. Host schools will need to be able to accommodate this in their hall space with the expectation that this will still be available from 11:30-1:15 for your lunch service. Please indicate on the form whether or not you can host or are able to travel to another school. We will endeavour to arrange schools within walking distance of each other where possible to minimise travel costs. The Opera company will need a room for changing and 90 minutes get in and get out prior to and following their performances.
